AAMBY VALLEY: One has already etched his name in the top echelons of Indian golf; the other is one of the rising stars. When a team has such a potent combo in its line-up, the outcome, more often than not, happens on expected lines.
Gaganjeet Bhullar and Rashid Khan didn't have a great opening day, at least considering the high standards they set for themselves on the domestic circuit.

While Bhullar had a three-under to show for his efforts, Rashid's was even worse at one-under, that too on an Aamby Valley course that the wiry pro feels "is among the easiest courses in the country".
On Saturday, both made amends - Bhullar returning with an eight-under for the day, including six birdies and an eagle, and Rashid complimenting his senior partner with a bogey-free six-under - to put their team Punjab Lancers back in reckoning with a 24-under total over two days.
The other two 'Lancers' in the Punjab side, Thaworn Wiratchant and David Howell, too had a good day, both registering identical four-under totals.
Bhullar, who hit six birdies during his bogey-free round, was, however, not satisfied. "I didn't putt well today. It was awful. I missed some really close putts. But my driving saved me. Almost in all the 14 holes, I landed within 10 feet of the flag. But I am happy my team is on top," Bhullar said.
Opening day leaders Delhi Darts were close behind, with a two-day total of 22-under, with Rahil Gangjee (-4), Johan Edfors (-3) and Scott Bar (-3) keeping them within sniffing distance of the leaders. Uttarakhand Lions and UP Eagles shared the third place at 17-under.
